CerOrganic (Quality Certified Training of Trainers on Organic Agriculture) is a Multilateral Project financed by the European Commission (EC) with the aim of developping an internationally-recognized Quality Assurance procedure for the vocational education/training of agricultural advisors/trainers, based on the European Quality Assurance Reference Framework (EQARF).

By incorporating existing Organic Agriculture (OA) trainings for young and/or unemployed agricultural experts into an innovative quality-certified training program and developing a quality certification system (for application to other OA training programs), CerOrganic aims to enhance the quality and attractiveness of all OA training systems.

The CerOrganic Training of Trainers - an exemplary programme

Picture33.jpg

In order to design an exemplary programme providing quality-certified training and to develop and test the Quality Assurance procedure, CerOrganic developed and implemented the CerOrganic Training of Trainers (ToT) Program. This exemplary training in Organic Agriculture (OA) followed international quality standards, specifically chosen for professional training.

The CerOrganic ToT took place from May, 8th to June, 15th 2011, and incorporated a Summer School held at the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania (MAICh), in Crete, Greece, between 23-28 May 2011.

It consisted of a five-week blended-learning training organized in three phases. The former and the latter phases included distance learning, operated through the designated CerOrganic Course Management Platform, while the central was represented by the one week Summer School held in Crete.
